 Great Book!

"Mastering the Art of Home: Balancing Work and Well-Being" presents a compelling, albeit somewhat lopsided, guide for those navigating the complexities of managing work and life within the confines of their home. The author's warm, conversational tone serves as an inviting backdrop to a range of topics, from organizing a home workspace to the intricacies of household chores and personal care. This approachable style makes the book a comfortable read, akin to receiving advice from a wise friend.

The strength of the book lies in its practical tips and motivational insights. The author excels in providing straightforward, actionable advice, many of which may seem self-evident but are often overlooked in the chaos of daily life. The segment on disciplined time management, highlighted by the author's technique for rapidly sketching out a book's structure, is particularly enlightening. It's these "inspirational gems" that elevate the book beyond a mere how-to guide, offering readers a blueprint for efficiency and mindfulness.

However, the book is not without its shortcomings. The balance between work-related advice and home care tips tilts noticeably towards the former. While both aspects are crucial in a home setting, a more equitable distribution of focus would have added depth to the narrative. The discussion on the importance of self-care, including stepping outside the home and indulging in personal pampering, feels like a missed opportunity for deeper exploration.

Furthermore, the book seems to cater predominantly to a female audience, both in tone and content. While this focus does not detract from the quality of the advice, it does narrow the book's appeal. A more inclusive approach, considering diverse lifestyles and work-from-home scenarios, would have broadened its relevance.

 Love this vibe!

This book has a really inviting vibe, almost as though you are sitting with the author over coffee, who comes across as a good friend that genuinely wants to help you with your life.

Vangie Vincent gives us the keys to a creative workspace in a unique style that becomes apparent right from the first paragraph.

My favorite take away from this book was the suggestion to put grocery orders on autopilot. People think they are saving money by going themselves, which they are. But at the expense of losing a TON of time and energy that could be put into more lucrative and effective tasks.

I would really recommend the hacks within these pages as pretty much anyone could benefit.

My only issue is that it wasn’t WAY longer. Would love a longer title from this author in the future.

Can the author get a heck-yes? Heck-yes she can! Would love to hear her thoughts on topics outside of this too, as she seems like a really powerful-minded and organized person.

Helpful tips to save time, stay organized and be productive

Written in a warm, personal tone, the book covers one's home workspace and work habits, home chores and household organization, and the importance of taking care of one's self, including getting out of the house and pampering one's self. The book provides practical advice on organization, getting things done, etc. -- many obvious, but also including some inspirational gems, such as disciplined time management and removing distractions, using the example of laying out the title, subtitle and outline of a book in just a few minutes. Though the author makes a strong case that both are important, I would have liked to have seen more time spent on working at home versus taking care of the home. Based on the writing style and perspective, I think the book will appeal mostly to a female audience. Overall a very accessible book that those working at home will refer back to again and again for ideas and inspiration.

Gets to the Point of What You Need to Know

What I love about this book is that although I've been working from home for 5+ years, I still needed these reminders. Things that seem like small things (going paperless, decluttering your desk, brushing your teeth regardless if you will leave the house or not) truly make you FEEL better - more organized and loved. I also love that the author gives tips on how to have a social life as a remote worker because I can admit that I have become somewhat of a hermit crab over the years.

All this being said, I do believe this book is amazing if you are new(er) to the work-from-home life. As someone who has been doing it for a while, although the reminders were great, many of these tips are things I am already doing. That being said, I did still pull a few nuggets that I want to implement this week. And the author is 100% about the 7-day calendar because doing this has truly changed my life! Overall, this a great book for you if you work from home and want to be more organized, have work/life balance and prioritize your self-care.

 Declutter Your Remote Work Life

This is a quick and easy read, that serves as an excellent reference and guide of how to stay organized. One problem I have is today I may have my home office spic and span and free of clutter, and in a month, it looks like a pigsty.

This book reminds the reader how important it is to be self-disciplined when it comes to maintaining order and organization in your home office space. Reading this book however does afford you the necessary level of inspiration to get things accomplished for a level of consistent success.

 Short and sweet!

Vangie Vincent's book on working from home is short and sweet and to the point. In 32 short pages, the reader feels like he has become friends with the author. There is a nice feel-good vibe in the book that challenges and invites. It is practical with solid advice for areas that I am personally deficient in.
